Watch as the artist paints a sunflower in Sumi-e style. This Asian painting style uses brush and ink. It's not just not a question of dipping a brush into the ink and painting, but also of controlling how much ink you load onto the brush and maintaining the point of the brush hairs. The simplicity of the result is deceptively easy. Notice also how the brush is held in a vertical position.
