The luxury tents in which you stay at each of Orient Express lodges in Botswana (Khwai River Lodge, Savute Elephant Camp, and Eagle Island Camp) are organised the same way, so although youre in a new place you dont waste time orientating yourself. Instead, you can get straight into absorbing the surroundings and sights. You spend two nights in each camp, flying between them.
Khwai River Lodge is, as its name suggests, situated on the banks of the Khwai River, on the northern boundary of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, offering luxuriant vegetation and prolific wildlife. Eagle Island Camp is set in the heart of the Okavango Delta, on the island of Xaxaba, providing the opportunity to cruise the waterways on a mokoro (dugout canoe) to view big game drinking at the water's edge, hippos, crocodiles, fish, frogs, and abundant bird life. Savute Elephant Camp is set on the bank of the Savute Channel in a dry and arid environment, Chobe National Park, a renowned place to view big game. Chobe is home to one of the biggest elephant populations in Africa.
