Use Hairspray on a Stencil When Fabric Painting

A tip to add to your fabric painting knowledge.

By , About.com Guide

When using a stencil to paint on fabric, use some hairspray on the underneath side of your stencil to make it stick on the surface, and to prevent the paint seeping in at the edge. I do a lot of stenciling on fabric and it works perfectly; the color will not go under the edges.
