Definition:

Flow medium is a colorless, liquid medium added to acrylic paint to increase the ease with which is spreads, and to slow down drying slightly. It works by breaking down the surface tension of the water mixed in with the acrylic paint. The result is paint that's more slippery than if it's thinned with water only, or with glazing medium.
