Taking this photo of a bougainvillea leaf as the starting point, I used photo editing software to alter the colors to the complementary colors red and green.
I think the result shows promise, but needs further development, starting with removing or reducing the number of veins on the leaf. Their straightness competes with the curves of the leaf's edge and the shadow.
