Intolerance by Ricardo Jabardo
September 11th Gallery
© Ricardo Jabardo 2002, 8 x 10", rubber stamp, ink, computer colouring

From the Artist: "The intent was to develop an instantaneous graphic idea in which the rubber stamp was related to a background created by an ink drawing. A new meaning was sought for the pre-formed image of the rubber stamp. But the rubber stamp changed its connotation as it related to the ink drawing and, over time, the stamp became a symbol. I use computer to add colour to the drawings. This opened the possibility for a new way of reading the drawings. I noticed that this new reading emphasized their content. This change also opened the possibility of printing the images, with which the condition of the unique piece of art was broken."
