From the Artist: Out Of The Ashes was the first piece that I did in the two weeks following 9/11. Immediately following that was Humble Hero. Out Of The Ashes was done in a state of pure emotion; it is the first piece that I have ever done without any planning before I sat down with pastel in hand ... in my mind, the eagle carries the spirits up....
