From the Artist: "As an admirer of texture and warm colours, my paintings are of mixed media composition, inspired by African culture and lifestyles. I have been painting for a span of five years, systematically adapting new techniques to enhance texture on canvas. This particular painting, Kalahari Evening, 2002, was exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston via the African American Art Advisory Associations sponsorship. It depicts the rural and rustic lifestyle of the Bushman tribe living and surviving and co-existing with the elements of the Kalahari Desert.
This is a painting of one such tribe huddled around a fire to keep warm among their ethnic structured huts. The composition on the canvas has varied heights of one-fourth inch to one and one-fourth inch. Realism was my main objective.
I welcome comments. I reside in League City, Texas"
