Colorfish by Marsha Stacy
First Painting Sold Gallery
© Marsha Stacy 2003, 16 x 20 inches, acrylic on canvas.

From the Artist: "Charcoal drawing has always provided a safe haven for me. Only recently did I take up the exciting pasttime of painting, but I have found that it provides the same calm retreat, only in an endless array of brilliant colors.

I paint whimsical, colorful characters that transport me into another world, one of serenity and laughter. I hope that they also transport the viewer to a peaceful place – a place where the smell of summer rain on hot asphalt or the silly giggles of children aren't overlooked or ever forgotten.

This painting is the third in a series of fish that I've completed in the last couple of months. They're all swirly and whimsical in nature. The first two were spoken for, so this was the first one that I tried to sell. I'd like to place others into shops or art galleries in the future, but for now I'm concentrating on creating more fun designs. I welcome any comments. And if anyone would like to see the first two paintings, please let me know. I'd welcome comments on them, also."
