Tearing a Sheet of Paper in Half Easily

A helpful tip to add to your painting knowledge.

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

To tear a large sheet of paper into two pieces with a straight edge, fold it in half, run your nail along the fold. Then fold it again the other way around, and run your nail down the edge again. Then wet your forefinger (lick it or put it into your painting water) and run it along the folded edge. Finally put the piece of paper down on a flat surface and tear it. It should tear easily, and straight along the fold.
