Achieving Satisfaction as a Painter

A tip to add to your painting knowledge

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

Whatever you do, don't expect to produce the "perfection" our standardised society has conditioned us to expect -- there are photographers for that. Play with the paint, have fun with it. If you don't like what you've done, paint over it, it's not the end of the world. Give yourself a break and paint something YOU like, not what you think other people will like or what you may have been "taught" to like. Do it purely for the joy of throwing paint at the canvas and you'll be surprised to find that you like the results.
