Eyes in a Portrait

A tip to add to your figure painting knowledge

By , About.com Guide

The best portraits are those where the eyes appear to "follow" you as you move, so be sure to have your model or subject sitting with their eyes looking directly at you. This doesn't mean that they have to be sitting facing you, their head can be at an angle to their shoulders or their eyes glancing towards you.
