Something Else to do with Unwanted Paintings

I've come across another idea for what to do with paintings that don't sell, if they're done on canvas rather than paper. A menswear designer from Sydney, Australia, called Don Pezaano has turned paintings into men's jackets...!

If you like the idea of making your own clothes by upcrafting, don't forget to look at About.com DIY Fashion where Guide Rain Blanken has all sorts of helpful how-tos and ideas!

Fortunately, all the paintings of Lucian Freud sold well ! (lol)
Nevertheless, it’s a wonderful idea !

Not every painting you do has to sell. Selling isn’t everything.
You can do the following with them:
Hang your paintings in various places throughout your home, rotating them every several months.
Give them as gifts.
Use them as examples of your work in a website or portfolio.
Paint over the bad ones
Re-work some of them.
Donate them to a community organization.
You should see my house, it’s full of my paintings, some of them going back to my college and art school days, and I do sell some of them.

In fact, one may wonder why are you painting… For what purpose ? Maybe very personal reasons, social goals, linking up with others, earning simply money, a desire for self-worth, just a hobby, or being pleased to hear positive comments… Today I don”t know what to think… Perhaps as bees I am genetically predisposed to painting all my life of human being. It is a frightening and Kafkaien feeling!
