Painting Portraits and Figures in Watercolor by Mary Whyte If you're seriously serious about wanting to develop as a watercolor painter, striving for rich color, painterly expression combined with realism for portraits, then I think you'll enjoy this book. If you want instant gratification and recipes for how to paint features, it's not a book for you.

What I particularly like is how it shows watercolor can be intensely colored, it doesn't have to be wishy-washy as is all too often the case, and how the artist shares her experiences and how she approaches things amidst the how-to info. Read my review...
