Rothko and The Renaissance
Thursday November 13, 2008
The color-field paintings of Mark Rothko and portraits from the Renaissance are about as different as you get in art styles. The reason I mixed them was that when I was in London a fortnight ago there were exhibitions of both. But being such a contrast meant I was able to enjoy both, rather than getting museum fatigue. Read what I thought of the Rothko and Renaissance Faces exhibitions, and browse through a few photos of color-field paintings and portraits.
