Doing the Same Painting Twice

Sunday November 9, 2008

If you've finished a painting but believe it falls into the "could do better" or "something's not quite working" category, then it's worth posting a photo in the Critiques Folder on the Painting Forum to get feedback. The two paintings below show what great things can come from getting feedback and trying again.

Railway line paintings

Notice the new composition (less sky), the reworked clouds (all-over rather than one puffy cloud), the more detailed vegetation? View the forum feedback on the original version and the revised version. You can see larger versions of the photos here.

I like both of them! But, I am not an art critic ;) I do like the detailed vegetation in the second painting though.
