Murphy's Laws on Painting (and Variations)

Sunday July 20, 2008
Murphy's Law, which states that if anything can go wrong, it will, has its variations for art and painting too... For instance, Murphy's Law on Painting No 1 states:
"Never quickly add something to a painting when you're already dressed to go out somewhere and are waiting for the rest of the family to get ready, as you will get paint on your clothes."
This list of 10 variations on Murphy's Law could also be titled "Art Lessons Learned the Hard Way".

Indeed… just because it’s not ‘paint’ doesn’t mean it’ll just come out in the wash.

OH yes, keep your best clothes well away from your painting area.

I left my nice jacket in the painting room and was lucky to spot the paint on it just in in time before it dried. Don’t know how it got there.

a loaded paintbrush can do a lot of damage!

acrylic paint is the worst because it dries so fast and then there is no chance of getting it off.
