New Month, New Look, New Project
Tuesday July 1, 2008
It's a new month and there's a new painting project. Quite a contrast to the idyllic landscapes of June's project, the challenge of this month's project is to use an urban scene as the starting point for an abstraction. Just remember, the challenge is abstraction, not to create a pure abstract but one with a loosely identifiable subject, one that has recognizable "things" in it. (Read July's project instructions...)
This month also sees the implementation of the new page design that's been on trial for the past while. There are quite a few "cosmetic" changes designed to make pages easier to read and navigate, and a few "structural" changes. The most important of the latter are the new tabs at the top of the pages which enable you to jump to various parts of the Painting section of About.com easily. To get to the Painting Landing Page (aka start page), use the grey tab on the left with the little house icon on it.
To get to the forum, you can either click on the "My Forum" link below the photo of me, or look for the box on the right-hand column showing the latest three forum posts. None of the articles have moved or disappeared, but if you can't find something, the search box at the top right will help you track it down.
