Using Nature as Inspiration for Abstractions

Abstract Art from Nature When you’re looking for inspiration for abstract art, you need to change the way you look at the world around you. You need to stop seeing the big picture and look for details. To look at the shapes and patterns which occur, rather than focusing on the actual objects. Follow my thought processes from the starting point of the trunk of a gum tree, with stones of various colors and sizes packed around it, to the final idea for an abstract painting.
