Art Sales Slump in the Northern Hemisphere

While artists living in the northern hemisphere may be delighted with the arrival of summer, there is a downside - a seasonal slump. Art advice guru Sylvia White says in her article Preparing For The Summer Slump: "Galleries begin their season in September ... often opening with their strongest artist and continue until about the middle of June. Many galleries use the summer months to mount group shows of gallery artists, or shows that they wouldn't consider during their 'prime season.'" Actually, I find summers an ok season, not great, but ok.

while Sept Thru Dec. seem good, after about Jan 15 you can forget sales until spring.
