Digital Art: Painting Realistic Hair

I think this is the best digital art tutorial I've seen yet on how to paint realistic hair. Even if you've no intention of ever painting digitally, it's worth a read for insight into how to approach painting hair and for the common mistakes mentioned, for instance that "every individual strand has to be painted all over the head" (it doesn't!).
