If you put photos of your paintings on your website, at some stage someone is going to use them without your permission. So what can you to do limit the damage? For starters, make the photo low-res and small, then consider adding a watermark or disabling the 'right-click save' mode (though this can irritate people who look at your website so much they go elsewhere!).
