How to Take Digital Photos of Your Paintings

If you want photos of your paintings for making prints or to enter a competition, it essential to use a professional photographer who specialises in photographing artwork, or can you take them yourself? I'm sure a lot of us have shared the problem Tera expresses on the Painting Forum, saying: "I'm broke, and probably will be for a year or so. I tend to be a 'do it yourself' type of gal and I can't imagine why I wouldn't be able to learn to take photos of my work well enough for reproduction, if not juries."

I personally think that if you've a little knowledge of photography, a decent camera, a tripod, and some patience, that it is possible to take the photos yourself. Start by reading this article: How to Photograph Your Paintings (Digitally).
