Can a Gallery Tell You What to Paint?

Would you change your style in order to get your paintings into a gallery? This is the dilemma facing Painting Forum member Julie, who has been asked by a new gallery to do some work: "The gallery is in a tourist town and the owner said she knows what will sale there ... [but] is it not unusual for the owner to tell you what to paint?
