Artist-in-Residence in USA National Parks

Wednesday May 25, 2005
Here's something for landscape painters in the US. Did you know that 29 national parks run artist-in-residence programmes? These offer "opportunities for two-dimensional visual artists, photographers, sculptors, performers, writers, composers, and craft artists to live and work in the parks." The deadlines for applications, who can apply, and the period of residency varies from park to park, but you can find all the details on the park's website. You'll typically be asked to donate an artwork to the park, and to interact with visitors in some way. This could be a great opportunity to spend an extended period in a park and provide a boost to your career as an artist. Don't automatically assume you won't qualify, take the time to find out more...

I am VERY interested in this program! There’s not a lot of information on the site so I wonder if you know more about it? Have you experienced it? Is it open for foreigners too?
Thank you!

I’m afraid I don’t know any details, you’ll have to follow up with the contacts provided by the parks.
