Open Studios in England 2005

An "Open Studio" event is a great opportunity to go see how other artists organise their working lives and to talk directly to people about the realities of making a living as an artist. To see how other artists work, how they've set out their studios, what subjects they're painting, what size canvas they're using, to ask questions about the work you see, and so on. The emphasis isn't on pressurising you to buy something (though of course this is the hope), but to show what's being created behind the usually closed studio doors. If you're in the UK this summer, take the time to make use of these Open Studio events:
• Sheffield/South Yorkshire Open Studios 30 April to 2 May, 7/8 May, 14/15 May
• South East Open Studios from 10 to 26 June 2005.
• Cambridge Open Studios during weekends in July
• Surrey Open Studios from 4 to 19 July 2005.
